There has been much more fuss about the tilde than just Google.
Interesting reading, thanks Richard. Yeah, I remember those days when websites used to have tildes in the URLs!
In fact, my own magazine "The Buzz", which I mention in the post above (Aug 6) was located on my own account on a linux server, and the address was: www.skynet.ie/~mickh
I don't think you'd get away with that address today! Few people would be able to find tilde on their keyboards (in fact, it took me a little while just there!).
